PDC's - structural engineers have over 30 years experience in industrial projects, as well as providing structural engineering services for design of institutional and commercial facilities. INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES When the industrial design problem is primarily structural in nature, a structural engineer will lead the industrial groups with supprt from mechanical and electrical in-house forces. This was the case in the design of industrial modules to house pumps and meter equipment for an oil patch project on the North Slope. Our structural group supports industrial projects which have included special three dimensional analysis of pipe stress for piping projects managed by the Fuels Group. INSTITUTIONAL AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS - PDC's structural group has extensive experience as a solid member of the building design team. Our experience extends to leading such teams for design of industrial buildings, however, for most of our work with building design, we are cast in the role of sub-consultant to the project architect. While serving in this role, we helped our clients to win awards for design excellence, as well as commendations from the owner for excellent project budget control.

PDC - has been engineering mechanical systems serving facilities of nearly every description for more than 20 years. Although many of the facilities designed by the firm are located at remote sites, including the Arctic and Antarctic locations, we also have project experience in temperate, as well as tropical environments. While a good deal of our design efforts are related to mechanical systems required of sophisticated facilities such as hospitals and laboratories, we also provide mechanical engineering for the design of military and industrial facilities. INDUSTRIAL - PDC has a strong background in industrial work, including designing ventilation for Alaska's largest hardrock mine (a project requiring fans capable of moving 250,000 SCFM @ 10" w.g.); full stream fabric filtration systems designed to clean up 680,000 ACFM of boiler flue gas, renovation of existing power generation plant systems including boiler feed water pumps, low voltage station power, and installation of new flue gas heat recovery system. - INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES - For more than 20 years PDC has been designing mechanical systems serving schools, visitor centers, offices, museums, hospitals, scientific laboratories, and other types of institutional, and commercial spaces. Many of these facilities require design of humidification-dehumidification systems to control indoor environments. Our remote and cold regions design experience provides us with special knowledge in the design of energy efficient systems. Since Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems became commercially available, PDC has pioneered their application to control HVAC equipment. As a matter of fact, early, innovative use of DDC technology in 1985 and 1986 lead to an ASHRAE Energy Award for our energy conserving mechanical systems design. FUELS - PDC's Fuels Group has evolved over the past 15 years to provide our clients with world class fueling projects of which our clients are proud of and which perform as expected. Selected personnel from PDC's mechanical engineering group make up the core of our Fuels Group. Central fuel distribution systems employed at airports (including aircraft hydrant fueling) as well as truck fill stands, pipelines, and fuel storage tank installation are, by their very nature, multi-disciplinary projects utilizing civil, structural, and electrical engineers as well as mechanical engineers.

The Talaske Group Inc - 105 North Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park, IL 60301 (708) 524-2800 Sound is a critical feature of the building arts, one that has a profound impact on the use of space. Although we perceive every space with our aural as well as our visual senses, the significance of sound in the built environment is often overlooked. Like lighting, sound may be appropriate or inappropriate. The proper control of sound is essential to fulfilling the needs and enabling the activities of those who use a facility. Sound characteristics can be crafted to support specific functional needs—but sound has the power to carry more than a supporting role. Soundscapes can be designed and sculpted for the most expressive purposes. TALASKE consultants believe that the sound environment deserves as much attention as other aspects of the building arts. As acousticians, audio and audiovisual systems designers, performers, technicians and craftsmen, we know that sound offers limitless possibilities to enrich and enhance experience. We have studied the art and the science of sound and video and have learned that the objective rigors of science must be balanced by subjective validations and individual experiences. We know how to predict the individual characteristics of sound and optimize these within the built environment.
