Quik-Tape - One of the major advantages of pressure sensitive mesh tape is that it saves considerable time, both in application and drying time, by only having to apply two coats of compound instead of three. The initial embedding application is eliminated. When used with a setting type compound, it permits same day joint finishing. Also, the open weave construction of the mesh tape allows moisture to evaporate quickly and evenly, thus preventing bubbles and blistering. Another advantage is that there is no wicking. Fiberglass mesh tape is unaffected by mold and will not absorb moisture. This mesh tape provides a tensile strength of 75 pounds-per-square-inch. The 8-millimeter thickness of this tape is easily covered with compound. And 100% fiberglass yarns will not support combustion.
