Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association (DASMA) - the new voice of the industry for manufacturers of residential and commercial garage doors, rolling doors, and door operators and remote controls. The Association was formed by the consolidation of two industry trade associations--the Door & Operator Remote Controls Manufacturers Association (DORCMA) and the National Association of Garage Door Manufacturers (NAGDM)--both of which trace their history back to the 1960s. Members of DASMA are committed to strengthening their industry through the cooperative actions of leading manufacturers and suppliers to the industry. Combining the interests of DORCMA and NAGDM members--as well as manufacturers of rolling steel products--into a single trade association enables the industry to respond effectively and efficiently to key issues facing manufacturers. This synergy is enhanced by having as Associate Members those companies that supply raw materials or significant components used in the manufacture and installation of door and access systems. These issues include product safety and liability, installer training and education, consumer awareness, standards developments, government/regulatory affairs, and other topics. A unified manufacturers association also complements the work of the International Door Association, which represents many of the industry's dealers and installers.
